In an inspiring collaboration with Anna Barba (fourth-grade classroom teacher), our fourth graders embarked on a creative journey to become graphic novelists. The students poured their hearts into writing personal narratives and brought their stories to life with vibrant illustrations, culminating in their very own graphic novels.

Our partnership with the Arlington Public Library provided a wonderful platform to showcase these young artists' work. The library graciously hosted a reception to celebrate the fourth-grade artists, where the students proudly displayed their graphic novels to family, friends, and the community. The highlight of the event was the opportunity to meet renowned graphic novelists Gene Luen Yang and Jerry Craft. Their presence and words of encouragement left a lasting impression on our young creators, inspiring them to continue exploring their artistic talents. This project not only fostered creativity and storytelling skills but also built a sense of accomplishment and pride among the students. We are incredibly proud of our fourth graders and grateful for the support of the Arlington Public Library and the inspiring graphic novelists who joined us.

    Veronica Perez

Welcome to my corner of the web! My name is Veronica Perez, and I am passionate about both art and teaching. For me, art is not just a hobby; it's a way of life. It allows me to express my thoughts, emotions, and perspectives in ways that words often cannot. Whether it's through painting, drawing, or sculpting, I find joy in the creative process and the endless possibilities it offers. Teaching is another passion of mine. I believe that education is the key to unlocking potential and fostering growth. As an art teacher, I strive to inspire my students to explore their creativity and develop their skills. I aim to create a supportive and engaging environment where students feel encouraged to take risks and express themselves freely. Combining my love for art and teaching, I am dedicated to helping others discover their artistic voice and achieve their creative goals. I am excited to share my journey with you and hope to inspire you to embark on your own artistic adventure.
